Alan Schlottmann, PhD, is currently a Senior Research Fellow at Claremont Graduate University and Professor of Economics at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, as well as the Professor Emeritus (William Stokely Scholar) at the Stokely Management Center, University of Tennessee. Alan's work focuses on risk management and regulatory and compliance issues with Fortune 500 firms in the banking, lending, and insurance industries. He has performed investigative public policy studies for both houses of Congress, the US General Accounting Office, and the Dutch Parliament. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including international recognition from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research, and national awards from the Regional Science Association and the Southern Regional Science Association.

Peter Bearse

Associate Professor of Economics, UNC Greensboro

Peter Bearse, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. Peter has academic publications in top journals on econometrics and statistical theory, as well as in applied econometrics and statistics, and has received international recognition for his work. He received his MA (1992) and PhD (1995) in Economics from the University of Virginia with concentrations in econometrics and financial economics. Peter’s research focuses on topics such as semiparametric estimation of duration models with unobserved heterogeneity, influential observations in multivariate settings, and dynamic multivariate modeling including vector autoregressions and cointegration analysis. From 1996 - 1998, the Wall Street Journal selected him as one of ten economists providing its forecast of the Southeastern US economy. Peter has extensive experience in database programming, as well as designing and programming predictive models and analytics engines.

Pamela Kroger

Chief Consultant, Mortgage Lending

Pamela is a graduate of the University California, San Diego. Pamela has over 20 years of experience in the mortgage lending industry. Pamela has worked in a variety of capacities at mortgage lenders, including Long Beach Mortgage Corporation, NovaStar Financial and New Century Mortgage/Home 123. She has worked in, overseen and managed all aspects of the mortgage lending process. Pamela has directly overseen the implementation of automated Funding processes and new IT systems for compliance with federal and state mortgage regulations while working for major US mortgage companies.

Joseph Mayer

Joseph Mayer is currently a medical student at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons and a graduate of Stanford University (2004) where he studied biological sciences. Prior to medical school he started Amsterdam-based Unwired Holdings BV (2006) as an alternative wireless broadband company that develops and operates networks in partnership with IBM and local or regional governments in Europe. Joseph developed Unwired’s business strategy and partnerships, obtained financing, and oversaw deployment of the company’s first network in the city of Groningen (Netherlands) for use by the municipality, police, and over 40,000 additional end-users. While at Unwired, he worked closely with companies such as Cisco, IBM, and various other IT services and technology firms. Joseph moved to the Netherlands after graduating from Stanford, where he was a junior researcher in Molecular Pharmacology at Leiden University and consultant for Corcept Therapeutics.

Breton Peace is a graduate of Stanford University (2003) and the University of Michigan Law School, where he was a Clarence Darrow Scholar. He is an associate in the finance department of Latham & Watkins LLP.

Walter Talbott

Vice President of Design

Walter Talbott is a PhD student in the Cognitive Science Department at UCSD. He graduated from Stanford University (2004) with a degree in Symbolic Systems. He has also studied at the University of Edinburgh, where he earned his MSc. with distinction in Informatics (2005), and at the Eindhoven University of Technology for a Professional Doctorate of Engineering in User-System Interaction (2008).
